Quite Rude

People, we have blog-off
Blogged on Friday 30th July 2004 at 3:39:55 AM by David

Yes, it seems that Quite Rude is now 100% complete. Not all of the features have been worked in yet but this is for all intents and purposes a fully functioning blog script.

Here's what we have so far:

  • Posting of comments and blogs (obviously)
  • Editing of comments and blogs by admins only
  • The ability to disable (and re-enable) comments and whole blogs by admins
  • Admins also have the ability to post HTML in their comments now.

The rest of the features will be added over time and once I am done I will release this current blog script as a free Lite version and the monster, super-duper, blog script as a not so free version. Grin

Dave, you really need to get rid of that horrible nav bar and replace it with simple text links. It looks shit.

I've got plenty in the works for this site, new styles, new articles, competitions, etc. Now all we need is are the visitors Cheeky

Got my driving theory today. Wish me luck everyone. All two of you.

    -Phil.

One more complaint : On "Edit this comment" for admins, it seems to tag a closing P tag on the end, but doesn't do it for blogs.

Good Luck with your driving Theory Phil.
Poor David, all his hard work and people just keep criticizing him, keep up all the good work people.

Passed my theory test. Hooray, for the great pizzaphone has arrived. And Charlotte is cooking me a curry. Korma to be precise. All is swell in the Freeman house.

I know, isn't it terrible? *looks at Phil*

I'll try and sort out that bug Phil and congrats on the passing your theory test.

What's a pizzaphone by the way? It sounds like the messiest form of communication known to man.

    Edit: Bug fixed.

Another Edit: YIKES! Thanks Robert, it seems as though my character filter wasn't functioning properly either.

Hot damn, nice work, Dave (can I call you Dave? Or do you prefer David?).

The only thing I can say abou the navigation, is that upon hovering over a link, the text becomes hard to read.

Hi Dave, I'm a complete stranger that just found your site from your link on the webdev.com forum and thought I'd leave a message saying how very groovy it looks. So here goes: "This site looks very groovy". Grin

Especially the "quiteRUDEdotcom" logo too. I might be getting the hang of markup and scripting, but I'm still fantastically poor with Photoshop. *sigh*

Keep up the good work chuck. Wink

Thank-you both for your kind words, however I must pass the design compliments onto Phil. This is his skin and I am a mere coder. Grin

There's already a new skin waiting to be CSS-ified which may or may not get done soon, it all depends on what you vote for in the New Features blog. Wink
